The Snow has arrived in Morzine for the 2010/11 season!!

The snow has arrived in Morzine, France again and there’s plenty of the stuff. Have  look at one of our minibuses nearly buried a couple of days ago on the 26th November 2010:

Our Geneva airport transfer service start again very soon (shared services: from the 12th Dec, private: always available) and our carefully selected staff arrive in the next couple of days for their alpine driver training course and orientation.

As per usualy we will be operating the following services this winter:

• Morzine Airport Transfers
• Les Gets Airport Transfers
• Avoriaz Airport Transfers
• Samoens Airport Transfers
• Morillon Airport Transfers

Our Early bird discounts are now over, however our low cost transfers are still the most competitive in resort, and if you do find a cheaper quote on like for like services we will match that quote, and we promise to provide a level of service second to none!

We don’t like to blow our own trumpet, however, aswell as being the original low cost Geneva airport transfer operator:

• We operate our own transfers – we are not a booking agent so there are no middle men or any hidden costs. We are based in Morzine where from where we write!!
• All of our drivers are fully trained and carefully selected and interviewed – we only choose the best of the best experienced drivers (not party animals).
• Your safety is paramount and we invest in our drivers, our fleet of minisbues and in the management of our work schedules.
• Our new fleet of minibuses are fully equipped with snow tyres and snow chains (and our drivers are trained in how to put them on too!!). They re longwheel based meaning extra luggage space for all your ski equipment and baggage.
• We are fully licensed and fully  insured for French territories and within the Cantons of Geneva.

Snow is on its way in Morzine, and its nearly June!!

Hello from Morzine,

So our last title was ‘Summer is coming soon to Morzine’, well it seems we tempted fate. We just checked Snow-Forecast.com to see when to whip out the speedo’s and it seems that nearly half a foot of snow is on is way this weekend, starting tonight!! We’ve only just packed away all our snowboarding and skiing gear and were about to buy some new summer tryes for our vehicles, seems we’ll have to unpack the thermals, put a hold on the tyres and contact mum for more PGtips!!

Summer is on its way in Morzine

Hello, long time no blog. Its been a hectic winter season for PowderCab. A very good one though business and moutain-time-wise  :)

The snow in the UK and here caused havoc with flight cancellations and delays at the start of the winter season, which was a baptism of fire for some of new transfer drivers this season. They and our regular drivers did a great job for us and got stuck in when the going got tough.

Our new site (PowderCab.com) worked very well and it was possibly down to this fact that we were so busy we had to recruit extra staff in the office and on the road.

Mountain wise, there were some excellent snow conditions and we experienced some of the best powder we’ve ever ridden. Being our 7th season in Morzine we were chuffed to even find some new powder runs but alas we will not be disclosing these locations

Towards the end of the season we did manage to get some more time up the mountain and did the Portes Du Soleil circuit several times which was great to get away from the slightly busier Avoriaz slopes.

Just as the season was ending and we were about to relax for the first time since December, the volcano in Iceland erupted and spewed ash into the skies meaning no flights and all our clients were stuck in resort (Morzine, Les Gets, Avoriaz, Samoens and Morillon). It was a bit of a strange and frustrating time for everyone as no one knew what was going on with the flights and how clients were going to get home.  Eventually all our clients managed to get back either by rail, coach or ferry and some even waited until the flights started again. We can think of worse places to be stuck though!!

We are now looking forward to the summer sun in Morzine and a couple of lie-ins before hand.

Au revoir for now and fingers crossed the volcano behaves itself this summer (especially as we have a wedding to go to in Ghana in a few weeks!!).

As the snow glistens under the stars in Morzine we are forecast some more chilly weather – down to minus 14 in Morzine and up top it will be minus 21 according to Snow-Forecast.com

Our new site is working well and we are busy booking new clients in and helping out those who have had their flights cancelled or delayed due to the UK snow – oh the irony!! With our new site up and running our WordPress discount no longer counts but you will still not find a better price for your ski transfers between Geneva and Morzine, Les Gets, Avoriaz, Samoens and Morillon on like for like services.

Heading back to Morzine

Well, after a quick trip back to the UK, the PowderCab office teams’ tails are wagging because we are heading back to Morzine in a few days. Its a fairly long drive but we are excited and have everything crossed for lots of snow in Morzine and in the whole of the Portes Du Soleil ski region this winter.  We have stocked up on all the British food comforts of baked beans, marmite, real cheddar cheese, some of mums marmalade and of course thousands of tea bags!!
